So who am I ranting about, exactly?

Well, my old ones were kinda confusing anyway, so I might as well start from scratch. Still, I'll try to keep these as ridiculously detailed as previous.

Buguese is leader of the Big Four, and Mantid's right-hand man. He is determined to collect the Oracle Keys to restore sunlight to his people. Despite having doubt in his leader's intentions, he placed all his faith in Mantid, believeing that he was capable of saving the Insectors. However, Buguese desires to ultimately become the ruler of his people. He likes to believe he's capable of accomplishing all of this on his own, but actually does care for his comrades and need their help. He respects Stags as a warrior, and deeply regretted manipulating both he and Beerain. While attempting to manipulate her in the process, he even once helped restore her faith in Mantid. He needs Aqune most of all, because of her powers. While from the time he found her, he made her Mantid's tool, he grew to care about her and found that she was "something precious to him." Throughout the series, he constantly shows concern for her well-being, and he eventually sets her free from Mantid's control, allowing her to live as she chooses. Buguese despises the Oracle, whom he believes was the one responsible for taking his people's sunlight. He doesn't understand why she, the creator of the Inner World, would only shine her light on the humans. He wants to take what the humans have and give them the chance to suffer. His hate extends further to the Spider Riders, who were actually given power by the Oracle, and have used their power to thwart the Insectors many times. Buguese hates Hunter most of all, partially because of Hunter's constant victories over him, partially because of their significant clash of ideals, and also semingly because of Aqune's closeness to Hunter. However, they come to somewhat of an understanding, and after being betrayed by Mantid, he puts his faith in Hunter, providing him with the final two Oracle Keys.

Aqune is an Oracle Handmaiden and Spider Rider willingly in the Insector's service. She was found by Buguese in the Forest of Bewilderment when she was little. She has no memory of her early childhood, but was presumably separated from her sister and fellow handmaiden-in-training, Corona when their transport from Nuuma was attacked by buzzrays. She still retains her devotion to the Oracle, and believes it to be her responsibillity to help all people in the Inner World. She lends her powers to Buguese to help search for the Oracle Keys, but due to her pacifistic nature, doesn't wish to fight against the other Riders. She is controlled by the masks she wears in order to make her fight, but has defended Hunter on several occasions when her masks are broken. This was no longer an issue when she was given her new mask, which latched into her brain painfully and put her directly under Mantid's control. She cares about Hunter a lot, and may have feelings for him, but these are not really reciprocated. She seems to have a respect for Buguese in particular among the Insectors, and even became angry at Mantid after Buguese was betrayed and presumably killed. Once Aqune is freed by Buguese, she and Corona support Hunter in the final battle with their powers. It is unknown whether she will return to live with the Riders in Arachna Castle, or stay with the Insectors in their newly restored land.
